A fleeting flirtation unfolds between myth and modernity, marble and muse, fantasy and fashion.
In this beautifully theatrical composition, Michael Joseph places an elegant young woman beside a classical putto, allowing antiquity and contemporary glamour to occupy the same stage. Mio padre, Michael Joseph, è stato un fotografo pubblicitario londinese dagli anni Sessanta a inizio Novanta. In quei decenni ha prodotto un corpo di lavoro straordinario: la sua immagine più riconosciuta è l’iconico gatefold di Beggars Banquet per i Rolling Stones.

Queste sono le opere che hanno vissuto oltre i titoli: stampi di prova, inquadrature alternative da grandi servizi, e fotografie più calme e personali, tutte realizzate con la sua tipica intensità, disciplina e devozione all’arte.
Gran parte della loro atmosfera deriva dalla camera oscura stessa. Sono fotografie modellate dalla luce, dal tempo e dal lavoro manuale: complesse composizioni di gruppo, nature morte scultoree e momenti che invitano lo spettatore a indugiare e guardare ancora. La varietà è centrale nell’archivio, e spesso propongo pezzi unici, irripetibili, che esistono da nessun’altra parte.
