The Minolta AL is a well-built 35mm coupled-rangefinder camera introduced by Minolta in 1961. It features a fast fixed Rokkor-PF 45mm f/2 lens, an Optiper Citizen MLT leaf shutter with speeds from 1 to 1/1000 second, and a battery-free coupled selenium meter that works by match-needle for manual exposure. The bright viewfinder combines a superimposed rangefinder with coupled parallax correction for precise focusing. With its solid metal construction, fast lens and self-powered meter, the AL remains an appealing classic for film photographers and collectors who value fully mechanical, battery-independent rangefinders.
