"Ferito da un cuore spezzato, il giovane ingegnere belga Georges Nagelmackers fuggì negli Stati Uniti. Lì scoprì i ferrovie dotate dei primi vagoni letto al mondo. Tornato in Europa, realizzò il progetto della sua vita: lanciare treni di lusso che lo avrebbero condotto alle Porte dell’Oriente.
Nel 1919, Orient-Express svela i carrelli di colore blu notte del primo treno Simplon-Orient-Express. Per la prima volta, Parigi collega Istanbul via Milano e Venezia, e attraversa il Tunnel del Simplon. Un’impresa tecnologica apre una nuova rotta attraverso le Alpi.
Progettati dal decoratore René Prou e dal maestro vetraio René Lalique, i nuovi vagoni lounge Pullman ispirano una nuova arte di vivere a bordo. Capolavori di raffinatezza e lusso nella gloria dell’Art Déco, incarnano l’eccellenza dei viaggi francesi."

- 2 card game sets, unused, wrapped in plastic film
- 5 dice
- 4 poker chip sets in red, blue, green and black, all wrapped in plastic film
- all are wrapped in velvet pouches, branded with "Orient-Express"
- a luxurious lacquered wood and satin box
The game set is in a very good brand new condition
The lacqued box is in a superb condition.

- the inside silk lining shows some time related tarnishing / browning traces (please see photos)
the outer box and sleeve show some signs of use / wear (please see photos)
