In 1945, the Duke of Windsor commissioned the English manufacturer to create footwear whose unconventional design was inspired by the double-buckled aviator boots of pilots at the time. The very first double monk in history emerged from this original concept. The boot version presented here closes this historical circle in an impressive manner and distinguishes itself with its elaborately hand-stitched toe cap, which lends a subtle, three-dimensional depth to the vamp.
Crafted on the characteristic 9795 last, this boot rests in a distinguished, balanced shape that elegantly and naturally embraces the foot. The traditional Goodyear welted construction and the fine, subtly gleaming buckles combine to form a unit of unobtrusive grandeur. The first-class leather soles and the heels with rubber corners show only marginal signs of use and present themselves in excellent condition. The sole received a masterfully crafted upgrade through professionally and flushly recessed toe plates at the front tips.
