David Lewis’ Beolink 1000 del 1985 fu il primo passo verso l’equipaggiamento audio-visivo intelligente che B&O continua a perseguire. Beolink 1000 fu la prima unità di telecomando al mondo progettata per offrire accesso comune sia ai sistemi hi-fi sia alle unità TV e video. Programmando come una bacchetta magica, Beolink 1000, tramite la sua tastiera elegante e logica, trasmetteva ogni tua istruzione. Permetteva di passare da CD a TV, da radio a video, da giradischi a registratore a cassette. Permetteva perfino di passare dagli altoparlanti della TV agli altoparlanti stereo del sistema hi-fi per sfruttare al massimo i videoregistratori stereo.

Caratteristiche
Beolink 1000 offriva controllo remoto monodirezionale per audio, video e controllo luci. Il funzionamento a batteria (3 x AAA) forniva sia i pulsanti di funzione primaria sia secondaria. Potrebbe essere utilizzato in qualsiasi stanza con diffusori X-tra o TV X-tra, offrendo facile accesso a tutte le funzioni del sistema. Poteva essere posizionato comodamente a parete come tastierino fisso, fissato saldamente dal gancio Beolink 1000 ed era particolarmente adatto per operare Beosystem 3500, Beocenter 8500, Beovisions LX5500 e LX4500 e Beovisions MX5500 e MX3500. L’unità misurava 40 x 15 x 230 mm e pesava 230 g.

Beolink 1000 fu il terminale di telecomando di ingresso di Bang & Olufsen, rilasciato nel 1986. I suoi fratelli maggiori erano i terminali bidirezionali Beolink 5000 e Beolink 7000. Originariamente fu proposto in diverse versioni: nel 1987 fu rilasciato il Terminal A, seguito dal Terminal V e poi dal Terminal AV. Il loro scopo era controllare la sezione audio di vari hi-fi (Terminal A); le sezioni video (Terminal V) e funzioni combinate (Terminal AV).

Beolink 1000 vinse l’ID Award nel 1986.
