Byōbu a sei pannelli proveniente dal Giappone, periodo Showa, altezza 163 cm e larghezza 268 cm, seta con fondo dorato raffigurante un albero di sakura al chiaro di luna e bracieri kagaribi in un paesaggio notturno, con rifiniture in metallo dorato e firma con sigillo; accompagnato dall’autenticità originale; in ottime condizioni con lievi segni d’uso dovuti all’età.

A distinctive medium-sized six-panel screen painted on silk with a gold ground, depicting a majestic flowering cherry tree (sakura) in an evocative nocturnal setting. Its luxuriant canopy, covered with a profusion of white blossoms, stands out against a mountainous landscape shrouded in darkness, illuminated by the light of a full moon rising between the distant peaks.
At the base of the tree are several lit kagaribi braziers, whose vivid flames cast warm reddish glows across the scene, creating a striking contrast with the cool tones of the night.

Byōbu (屏風), literally “wind protection screens,” are traditional Japanese folding screens originally created to divide spaces and today appreciated above all as striking wall-mounted paintings.
