L'opera è stata commissionata e legata a un progetto della nota azienda farmaceutica Pfizer negli anni 1983-1984, fondendo la ricerca scientifica medica (legata probabilmente alle articolazioni del corpo umano) con la visione artistica della frammentazione anatomica tipica di Mitoraj;
