Yakei 夜景(やけい)|Kuroyanagi Masataka 黒柳正孝(くろやなぎまさたか)
In a two-dimensional jet-black background, flowers and fabrics with different textures are designed through gradations of light, creating a piece that conveys warmth.
The fabric patterns feature Seigaihamon, Sayagatamon, and Kikkomon, all of which are traditional Japanese motifs. A single tree is placed in the lower center, expressed through precise details characteristic of copperplate printmaking.
Artist Profile:
Born in Tokyo in 1961.
After graduating from university, he refined his copperplate printmaking technique and received high acclaim at major domestic print exhibitions.
