Francesco Ciampi, known primarily by the pseudonym Ausonia, is a renowned Italian comic book artist, illustrator, and painter born in Florence on January 23, 1973. He is celebrated in the contemporary auteur comics scene for his highly experimental, dark, and surreal style, which blends traditional art with digital painting.
He took his first steps as an illustrator by creating covers for the role-playing game magazine *Kaos* and collaborating with the periodical *Anonima Gidierre*.
