Descrizione del venditore

Japanese Nezumi Shino guinomi (sake cup) by ceramic artist Mitsufumi Motomura, made at Gesshin Kiln (Gesshin-gama) in Yamagata, Japan.

This handcrafted sake cup has a substantial, slightly irregular form with a soft grey Shino glaze and warm reddish-brown tones appearing naturally across the surface.

Numerous small pinholes, glaze variations and uneven textures can be seen throughout the piece. These are characteristic features of Shino ware and form part of the unique kiln-fired expression of this handmade work.

“Nezumi Shino” literally refers to “mouse-grey Shino” and is appreciated for its restrained colouring and the subtle scenery created by the interaction of clay, glaze and firing.

The piece comes with its original signed wooden box (tomobako) and an artist/kiln leaflet.
