Up for auction is an impressive, crown-sized original 1914 Silver 1 Sol from the Republic of Peru, struck at the historic Lima Mint (KM# 196.26).

Obverse: Features the iconic Seated Liberty wearing a classical robe, resting her right hand on a sun-faced shield and holding a pole topped with a Phrygian cap, beside a column wrapped with a banner inscribed "LIBERTAD". Encircled by the national motto "FIRME Y FELIZ POR LA UNION" (Firm and Happy for the Union) and "UN SOL" at the base.

Reverse: Features the Peruvian Coat of Arms, showcasing a Vicuña, Cinchona tree, and Cornucopia spilling gold coins—surrounded by palm and laurel wreaths, topped with a civic crown. Encircled by "REPUBLICA PERUANA LIMA 9 DECIMOS FINO F.G." and the date 1914.
