Antique Silver Pocket Watch – Patria / Reconvilier Aramis (800 Silver)
Up for sale is a beautiful, antique Swiss pocket watch dating from approximately 1910–1920.
The watch is in full working order: the movement starts immediately upon winding, the balance wheel runs smoothly and steadily, and the timepiece keeps good time.
Specifications and features:
Case: Made of 800-grade silver (the official Swiss "Capercaillie" hallmark and the "0.800" mark are visible inside). The outer case back features an original, highly atmospheric, hand-engraved monogram (initials).
Construction: Open-face style case with a hinged front bezel, allowing easy and safe access to the dial. All case covers close tightly and securely.
Matching numbers: The outer case back and the inner dust cover bear the same original serial number: 573193.
Dial: Enamel (porcelain), two-tone, in a military/railway style. It features black 12-hour markings and an inner red 24-hour time ring. It is fitted with decorative Louis XV style hands and a separate sub-dial for seconds. The dial bears the PATRIA logo. Movement: Inside, there is a high-quality, robust Swiss stem-wound movement signed "ARAMIS" (manufactured by the renowned Reconvilier Watch Co. – R.W.C). Visually, it is very clean and complete.
Condition:
The watch is over 100 years old and shows natural signs of age. The movement is fully functional. The main visual flaws are losses of enamel in the center of the dial (around the hand axis) and damage to the dial between the 10 and 11 o'clock positions. Fine hairline cracks in the enamel are also visible (these could be addressed via replacement or retouching by the new owner). The attached photos accurately depict the watch's visual condition.
