Hubert Bari e David Lam

la loro formazione biologica;
le diverse specie di molluschi capaci di produrre perle;
le perle naturali e coltivate;
lui storia della pesca delle perle;
la loro importanza culturale e storica;

Hubert Bari and David Lam
Hubert Bari is a French author and curator, specializing in gems, minerals, jewelry and natural history. He has participated in several major exhibitions of the Muséum national d'Histoire naturelle, including that dedicated to diamonds in 2001.

David Lam is also a specialist in pearls and gemmology. Both worked together on several bead projects and completed advanced training in bead gemology at the SSEF (Swiss Gemmological Institute).

Their book on pearls
Their book Perles, published by Skira in 2009/2010, was created for the exhibition "Perles" at the Museum of Islamic Art in Doha, Qatar. The Bibliothèque nationale de France refers to him as Hubert Bari and David Lam.

The book is particularly interesting because it addresses pearls from several angles:
their biological formation;
the different species of mollusks capable of producing pearls;
natural and cultivated pearls;
the history of pearl fishing;
their cultural and historical importance;
jewelry and the pearl trade.

The book contains several hundred photographs and seeks to present scientific knowledge about pearls in an accessible way.
