History
The Seiko Lord Marvel reference 15023 was introduced in October 1961 and produced until February 1965. As a foundational model in Seiko's history, the Lord Marvel line is highly respected by collectors as the direct precursor to Grand Seiko. Unlike earlier Lord Marvel references that were restricted to a single material per case code, the 15023 was produced in stainless steel, 14k gold filled, and solid 18-karat gold. This reference also introduced printed logos to the Lord Marvel line, replacing the engraved logos found on earlier models. Powered by a 23-jewel hand-winding movement beating at 18,000 vibrations per hour, the watch features Seiko's proprietary DiaShock anti-shock system, representing the brand's commitment to mechanical refinement during the early 1960s.
