Sonny Insinna
A sculptural work from the Balance series, in which Sonny Insinna places the animal in a precarious position, suspended between stability and instability. The figure becomes a symbol of resistance, vulnerability and the fragile relationship between living beings and the world they inhabit.
The animal stands on a sphere covered with touches of 24-karat gold leaf, while the base is made from burnt wood. The contrast between the white sculptural form, the luminous gold and the charred wood creates a visual dialogue between fragility and strength, destruction and renewal.
The sphere represents an unstable world: a surface on which balance is never completely guaranteed. The animal, despite its precarious position, continues to resist and remain standing. The burnt wood beneath it evokes a world marked by wounds and transformation, while the gold introduces a precious element of light and resilience.

Attivo dal 1998, Sonny Insinna si forma al Liceo Artistico Almeyda e si laurea in Pittura (I° e II° livello) presso l’Accademia di Belle Arti di Palermo. Le sue opere sono presenti in collezioni pubbliche e musei,
Ha esposto in numerosi contesti istituzionali in Italia e all’estero.
Nel 2011 fonda la Libera Scuola delle Arti Visive “Mialò Art”. Nel 2024 pubblica il manuale Colori in Equilibrio.
Da anni concentra la sua ricerca sui linguaggi dell’arte contemporanea, con particolare attenzione alla figurazione e alla dimensione simbolica.
