Welcome to my Catawiki gallery. My name is Mascha Kragten, and I have been working as an independent artist for over twenty years. I graduated from the Amsterdam Academy of Fine Arts, where my love for painting further developed and deepened. In my studio, I work on realistic paintings, which I build up with great attention, patience, and craftsmanship. Each work is created using high-quality oil paint on canvas, where I strive for refined detailing and a strong, atmospheric presence. My realistic style requires time and care—and I gladly devote this to my paintings, ensuring that each work is a unique piece with character and depth. I draw inspiration from artists such as Maria Sybilla Merian and Helene Schjerfbeck when selecting compositions. My fascination with painting lies primarily in the use of color combinations on the canvas. The artworks I offer here come directly from my studio. I hope they bring just as much joy and inspiration to their new owner as I experienced while creating them.
