The chrysanthemum and paulownia have long been revered as noble crests in Japan.
Kiku-kiri motifs are depicted in red maki-e on a black lacquer ground.
The wide top surface of the hira-natsume is utilized to create a composition that is both brilliant and calm.

Ito Hyousei was born in Kyoto Prefecture in 1935.
In 1975, he was granted the name “Hyousei.”
He mainly produces tea utensils such as natsume, chaire, and robuchi.
