"A monumental abstract in deep blues, where colour, scale and silence transform the wall into atmosphere." - A large-scale contemporary painting in layered oceanic blues, created to bring depth, calm and architectural presence to an interior.
Description:
“Ocean Deep Blue” is an original contemporary abstract painting by Jerónimo, executed on canvas ( 100% cotton 410g) in a large panoramic format, with fully painted sides and a surface built through layered deep blues, oceanic tonalities and subtle gestural movement. The composition unfolds as an immersive atmospheric field, where transparency, density and tonal depth suggest water, suspended light, silence and spatial expansion. This work is not conceived as a merely decorative object, but as an architectural presence — a painting that actively shapes the mood of a room through scale, colour and visual weight. Its dark and mid-range blues create a strong sense of depth and quiet intensity, while internal shifts of tone and movement reveal themselves differently depending on distance, light and the rhythm of the surrounding space. The result is a painting that brings both impact and restraint: visually powerful, yet calm.
Because of its panoramic scale, “Ocean Deep Blue” is particularly suited to refined contemporary interiors, hospitality settings, executive offices, lounges, reception areas, hotel suites, spa environments and architecturally driven residential spaces. The work is sold unframed, with fully painted sides, and unstretched ( 7-10cm painted for the purpose).
Colours: Deep blues, ocean blue, petroleum blue, layered dark and luminous blue tones
Materials and Construction:
Original acrylic painting on canvas, created in a large-scale format to establish a strong and continuous visual presence. The painted surface is fully developed across the entire composition, with subtle tonal transitions, chromatic depth and long-distance spatial readability.
Side Finish:
The work features fully painted sides, allowing for a clean, contemporary presentation without the need for an external frame.
Frame Recommendation:
This work is sold unframed.
It can be installed exactly as it is, which is the strongest option for a contemporary and architectural presentation.If framing is preferred, the recommended solution is a very discreet floating frame in:
->natural oak
->walnut
->matte black
->subtle champagne tone
!!Heavy or ornate frames are not suitable for this piece.!!
LIGHTING RECOMMENDATIONS
For the best visual result:
->use soft, controlled, indirect lighting
->ideal colour temperature: 2700K to 3500K
->excellent with wall-wash lighting, soft ceiling spotlights, or discreet linear lighting
->avoid harsh frontal lighting
->avoid strong glare and hard reflections
->works especially well with filtered natural daylight
->the painting gains strength in calm, evenly lit interiors
!!Because this work depends on tonal depth and atmosphere, overly white, clinical or aggressive lighting will weaken it.!!
INSTALLATION GUIDELINES
->hang with the centre of the artwork at approximately 145–150 cm from the floor
->because of its scale, the painting should be placed on a wall with enough lateral breathing space
->ideal viewing distance: 3 to 6 metres
->above a sofa, console or sideboard, leave approximately 20 to 30 cm between the top of the furniture and the bottom of the artwork
->use a professional hanging system appropriate to the weight and wall type
->install only on a stable interior wall
->do not place directly above radiators, fireplaces or strong HVAC airflow
->the work performs best on a clean wall without competing decorative elements
!!This piece needs visual authority. It should not be compressed into a crowded setting.!!
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
Recommended conditions:
->indoor use only
->ideal temperature: 18–24°C
->ideal relative humidity: 45%–55%
->avoid condensation, high humidity and sudden temperature changes
->avoid prolonged direct sunlight
->do not install on damp or poorly ventilated walls
->keep away from intense heat sources
!!A work of this scale requires environmental stability. That is basic conservation, not a minor detail.!!
CONSERVATION AND MAINTENANCE
->dust gently with a soft, dry cloth or soft duster
->do not use water, sprays, detergents or solvents
->do not rub the painted surface
->handle with clean hands or gloves
->always move the work by supporting the structure, never by pressing on the canvas
->if long-term storage is necessary, keep it upright in a dry, stable environment
->protect with packaging that does not press directly onto the painted surface
BEST PLACES TO HANG — ARTIST RECOMMENDATION
Best locations for this work:
->large living room
->main wall above a sofa
->executive office
->contemporary lounge
->hotel suite
->spa reception or relaxation area
->premium meeting room
->large entrance hall
->minimalist or contemporary residential interior
->hospitality or architectural projects with clean spatial language
This painting works especially well with:
->neutral walls
->natural wood
->light or dark stone
->plain textiles
->contemporary furniture
->interiors with visual discipline and controlled atmosphere
!!It is not recommended for visually chaotic interiors, undersized walls or spaces overloaded with decoration.!!
About the Artist:
Sonia J:
Jerónimo is a contemporary abstract artist working between fine art and architectural space. Her large-scale paintings explore how colour, texture and material depth influence the perception of interiors. Her work is collected internationally and presented in exhibitions, art fairs and architectural environments, where paintings are conceived not only as visual objects but as elements that shape atmosphere and spatial experience.
Before dedicating herself fully to painting, Jerónimo spent more than three decades in the technology industry, working at executive level in international companies. After a long career defined by strategy, leadership and high-pressure decision-making, she shifted her focus toward artistic practice.
This transition marked a profound personal and creative transformation. Painting became a space for exploration, intuition and material experimentation, allowing a new form of expression that connects emotional experience with physical space. Jerónimo’s practice focuses on abstraction. Through large-scale surfaces, layered colour and spatial rhythm, she creates paintings that interact with light, movement and the architecture around them. Her work often draws from natural perception — the density of atmosphere, the horizon of the sea, suspended light, depth and silence — translating these sensations into compositions where colour becomes environment rather than image.
Rather than functioning as decorative elements, the works are conceived to operate within architectural spaces, where scale, tone and visual weight influence how a place is experienced.
Her paintings have been presented in international exhibitions and contemporary art fairs, including Berlin, Venice, Milan, Braga and Barcelona. Her work is also installed in hospitality ( Hotel & Spa, Italy) and interior design ( Verona) contexts, where large-scale paintings become part of the identity of hotels, spas and carefully designed interiors.
Through abstraction, Jerónimo explores the relationship between emotion, colour and space. Each work is conceived as an encounter between art and architecture — where painting transforms not only what is seen, but how a place is felt.
