Description:
This work features a composition characteristic of a dye artist, with a contrast between purple clematis flowers and black leaves. The background color is designed to enhance the flowers. The work is printed on very thin paper and is backed with washi paper.

Artist Profile:
Born in Miyazaki, Japan. She is a Japanese print and dye artist based in Tokyo. As a member of Nippon Hangain, founded by Shiko Munakata, she has received awards such as the Kikuka Award and Kegon Award. Her work has been exhibited at the Stadtmuseum Oldenburg in Germany and in China in 1982 as a member of the Japan Print Society of Women Artists. In 2006, she changed her name from Kinuko Narasaki to Kinuko Okura. In 2009, "Koromo Prints and Aizome Kinuko Okura Exhibition" was held in New York, USA.
