Vojin Bakic, Croatia sculptur.
He graduated from the Academy in Zagreb (1939), attended a special course with Frano Kršinić. Lived in Florence and Milan.

At the 28th Biennale in Venice in 1956, twelve sculptures by Vojin Bakic were presented in the Yugoslav pavilion, among others, and criticism of Bakic's sculpture was judged by the central appearance in the pavilion, especially the monumental plaster Bull. Another success and recognition for Bakić soon followed, he was invited to participate in two exhibitions on the occasion of the first post-war world exhibition in Brussels in 1958.

The city of Antwerp buys Bakić's Bull presented at the EXPO for the collection of the Middelheim open-air museum. The bull was first exhibited in the sculpture park in 1961 and has been there ever since. The city administration of the German city of Marla became interested in buying Biko, so they ordered the creation of a second cast from the author, which was placed in the city park in 1959, and is cared for by the Glaskasten Mari Sculpture Museum.
