In Il Dialogo della Luce, Bivaga orchestrates an encounter that exists at the threshold between stillness and motion. The figure turns gently toward the hovering bird, her attention refined into a single, deliberate gesture. Her extended finger becomes a point of contact that is never fully realized, holding the moment in suspension.
The richness of her attire unfolds in intricate layers of color and texture. Deep ambers, muted reds, and luminous threads create a surface that feels both ceremonial and intimate. The structured ruff frames her presence with quiet authority, while the elaborate hat introduces a sense of individuality that softens the historical reference.
Opposite her, the hummingbird vibrates with fragile intensity. Its presence introduces a fleeting rhythm that contrasts with the composed stillness of the figure. This subtle tension between permanence and transience defines the emotional core of the work. The figure does not reach to possess. She allows the encounter to exist within its own delicate balance.
Light moves carefully across fabric, skin, and feather, revealing a world where attention becomes a form of connection. In this suspended exchange, presence replaces action, and proximity becomes meaning.

About the artist:
Agatino Bivona, known artistically as Bivaga, was born in Biancavilla, Sicily, in 1972 and currently lives and works in Adrano. A pupil and close confidant of master Antonio Sciacca, Bivaga began his artistic journey at a young age and has spent over three decades refining his unmistakable visual language. His hyperrealistic portraits, rich in symbolism and emotional nuance, have been featured in major exhibitions in Italy and abroad. Celebrated in critical publications such as I Grandi Maestri (2009), and reviewed by prominent art critics like Nicola Villari and Alfredo Pasolino, Bivaga’s works are held in private collections across Europe, the United States, and Japan — carrying fragments of Sicilian elegance far beyond its borders.
