Descriere de la vânzător

This authentic handwoven Bergama chuval originates from the Izmir/Bergama region of Western Anatolia and dates back to the early 20th century.

Originally used as a traditional grain and storage sack, this piece represents an important part of rural Anatolian textile culture.

It features characteristic striped and decorated bands combining sumak and plainweave techniques, reflecting nomadic and village weaving traditions.

The kilim shows good color harmony and strong graphic design, making it attractive both as a collectible and as a decorative wall textile.

Origin: Turkey – Izmir / Bergama
Period: Circa 1930–1940
Dimensions: 100 × 76 cm
Material: Wool on wool / Wool on cotton
Condition: Honest vintage condition with visible signs of age and use. Minor wear and small holes are consistent with its original function and history and confirm its authenticity. Original
straps are preserved. Professionally cleaned.

Well-preserved Anatolian chuvals with decorative elements are becoming increasingly difficult to find on today’s market.

A rare opportunity to acquire an authentic piece of Anatolian weaving heritage, suitable for collectors, interior designers, and ethnographic collections.
