Beskrivning från säljaren
Mid-20th Century Hand-Carved Wooden Serving Tray with Geometric Rosette Panel
Date
Circa 1950.
Decorative wooden serving tray with integrated side handles. The central panel is carved with a symmetrical geometric composition featuring rosettes, radiating fan patterns, and concentric bands. Suitable for table service, display on a console, or wall-mounted as a decorative panel.
Overall good vintage condition. Light surface wear consistent with age and use. Minor scratches visible on the carved surface and frame. No structural damage. Back panel intact and stable. Wood shows natural patina.
Value justification
The tray demonstrates skilled manual carving with layered relief work and consistent geometric symmetry. The depth of carving and variation in tonal contrast between carved and plain surfaces indicate hand craftsmanship rather than industrial production. Preservation of the original surface and absence of restoration support collector value.
Dimensions
Width 54.5 cm
Depth 32.5 cm
Height 3.5 cm
