Founded in the 1850s, Schatz was for years the leading manufacturer of classic ship’s clocks. They continued to make mechanical chiming movements, before finally closed in 1985. But in 1923 it changed to August Schatz & Sohne. They produced barometers, mechanical clocks and electric quartz clocks. The company struggled to compete in the early 1980s and finally closed down in 1985. All items are wrapped in protection, foam or air bubbles and in full compliance with the German Packaging Act.
