Beskrivelse fra sælger
stunning Art Deco period faience vase from the renowned Belgian manufacturer Boch Frères Keramis in La Louvière.
This elegant piece features a classic bulbous lower body that sweeps up into a slender, horizontally ringed neck. It is glazed in a deep, highly reflective cobalt blue—often referred to as "Bleu de Sèvres"—which serves as a dramatic backdrop for the lavish gold overlay.
The intricate gold decoration perfectly captures the glamour of the Art Deco era. It features wide horizontal bands filled with stylized floral rosettes and scrolling geometric patterns. These are beautifully intersected by large, striking cartouches containing elegant fan-like palmette motifs. Thick gold banding around the rim, neck rings, and foot complete the luxurious design.
(Note: The intricate "lace" pattern visible on the dark lower half of the vase in the photographs is simply a reflection of the lace tablecloth it is sitting on, highlighting just how incredibly glossy and mirror-like the glaze remains!)
Base Marks:
The underside is a bit worn, but matches perfectly with Boch Frères Keramis from the period 1920-1930
