Pontiac - Fiero GT 2,8 V6 - 1986

GENERAL: This 1986 Pontiac Fiero GT 2.8 V6 shows approximately 65,000 kilometers on the odometer. The Fiero holds a unique place in American automotive history as General Motors' first mass-produced mid-engine sports car and the first two-seater Pontiac since the 1930s. Built with innovative composite rust-proof body panels mounted over a steel spaceframe, the mid-year 1986 GT model introduced the distinctive "flying buttress" fastback styling. Upgraded with the 2.8-liter V6 engine producing 140 horsepower, it transformed the platform into a true performance classic. Overall, this example is a fully functioning, largely original Pontiac Fiero GT that has been driven regularly to maintain reliability, presenting a clean profile that is ready to be enjoyed immediately. BODYWORK & PAINT: The car presents very well, with straight panels and an overall clean body. The paintwork is original and still holds a good shine, displaying only minor age-related marks and small imperfections consistent with a 1986 vehicle. There are no obvious signs of rust in visible areas, nor any known major repairs or past accident damage. Rubber seals around the doors and windows remain in good condition for their age, while the lights, glass, and exterior trim pieces are complete and intact. No structural welding has been carried out, and there are currently no visible areas requiring repair. TECHNICAL: Technically, the car is in good, usable condition. Brakes feel firm and consistent, the suspension behaves as expected without unusual noises, and the steering offers a precise feel for a classic sports coupé. The tires retain usable tread and are well-suited for regular driving. Under the rear deck, the 2.8-liter V6 engine starts easily whether cold or warm, running smoothly and pulling strongly through the rev range with no abnormal noises or obvious leaks. The manual gearbox engages all gears cleanly, complemented by a clutch that operates as expected. Routine maintenance has been kept up over the years, with consistent use benefitting overall mechanical health. INTERIOR: The cabin remains in original, period-correct condition. Seats, upholstery, and door cards are presentable with light, normal wear appropriate for the age and no major damage. The headliner is intact and the dashboard is complete, free from significant cracks or broken trim components. Electrical systems and interior features function well, including the instruments, switches, lighting, and ventilation. Inside, the vehicle retains the honest, unaltered atmosphere of an authentic 1980s Fiero GT. DOCUMENTS: The vehicle comes complete with registration papers and supporting historical documentation. A selection of past maintenance invoices and service notes provides insight into how the car was cared for by previous owners. Essential vehicle identity information and usage history are available for serious bidders, with personal details kept private. COLLECTION: The vehicle is located in Valla, Sweden, where collection or transport arrangements can be made upon request.
