Description from the seller
Service of B & C dishes – Limoges, France – Naturalistic fish decor – 12 + 1 dishes free
So, 13 pieces.
Elegant and refined French porcelain dinnerware from Limoges, produced by the manufacture B & C (Bernardaud & Cie / B & Co), a historic house active between the late 19th and the first half of the 20th century, renowned for the excellence of its craftsmanship, the quality of its decorations, and the skillful use of gilding.
The service is enhanced by a naturalistic decoration featuring a fish subject, with various species of fish depicted individually on each plate, immersed in detailed aquatic settings with algae, seabeds, and small marine elements. The artistic rendering is fine, balanced, and of illustrative taste, typical of the finest decorative productions from Limoges.
The border is particularly elegant, characterized by:
extensive gold gilding
Bordeaux fascia
Repeated golden decorative motifs that elegantly frame the central scene.
A visually striking set, ideal for an important table as well as for collection or decorative purposes.
Composition:
12 original dishes
One additional dish free of charge.
(Total 13 dishes)
Brands:
On the back, there is the B & C – Limoges – France mark, which certifies the authenticity and French porcelain production from Limoges.
Conditions:
Good overall condition, with evident signs of age consistent with the period of use: slight wear of the gold plating, small surface marks, and normal signs of use. No structural damage. The dials are solid, well-preserved, and highly charming.
Period: first half of the 20th century (approximately 1920–1940).
Production: Limoges, France.
A service of great elegance and character, increasingly difficult to find complete, highly appreciated by collectors of French porcelain, enthusiasts of natural themes, and those seeking a distinctive object for a scenic table or decorative wall.
Careful packaging and professional shipping protection.
