Joh Michal Riedl (Riedel - Ridl)
Johann Michael was born in 1729 in Linz and worked there as a watchmaker. He became a citizen of the city in 1769.
Original case with a smooth edge in good condition - internally with a solder joint.
Dial with Roman numerals and an outer minute track. Original steel hands - gold-colored and decorated (Baroque hands). Fluted date hand on an inner Arabic numeral scale from 1 to 31. Signed Joh Michael Riedl below the twelve and in Linz above the six. The dial is in very good condition.
Watch case without damage. Under the 6 release mechanism for the movement flip.
Silver watch case undamaged.
Very beautifully constructed fire-gilded princely spindle work in the finest execution - gilded decorations and a silver spindle bridge with the Austrian double eagle, crown, and large faceted ruby cabochon, in elaborate design. The work features a chain snail and round pillars with decorations. Signed Joh. Michael Riedl in Linz No. 822. Fine side and plate applications.

Pocket watch key – also serves as a setting key for the hands on the dial, with a square drive present.
Work functioning. Clock creation around 1760.
