French watch manufacturing
Work of a master jeweler.
Ceremonial clock with fine verge movement around 1770
Beautiful watch in a gold case - at least 18K - engravings on the pendant. Fine case in a beautiful, exceptional overall design.
Enamel dial with Roman numerals, featuring an external running minute track connected to large Arabic numerals from 5 to 60, in a continuous sequence. Highly decorated ornate hands in gold color. Very good condition, with only a defect in the crown during the winding mechanism. Opening pusher located below the dial at the VI.
Dial bezel with raised engraving work, very good condition.
The back of the pendant features a central medallion with a gold rim, depicting a golden lucky angel on dotted red enamel. The medallion is framed by a masterfully crafted blue enamel ring with applied gold decorations—represented by flowers, leaves, and small, fine details resembling a hunting horn... The case is finished with an engraved, ornate circle, which also houses the gold opening button.
Very beautiful classic work with spindle drive chain and snail - finely crafted. Delicately worked bracket with four decorative elements and an engraved edge. Square pillars and a decorative appliqué. A great, delicate piece.
Movement works. Collector's item, therefore no control over running time or accuracy.
A gap on the dial between II and III.
Winding key also available for setting the hands on the central square of the dial.
Watch diameter 40mm - height with crown and pendant 57.8mm. Height 19.5mm - weighs 56.5g.
Very fine, unusual design. Rare and exquisite. A highlight of any collection.
