The original of this statue was discovered in Sperlonga at Tiberius's Villa in the 1950s.

The bronze copy was produced using the lost wax technique. It was created from a mold of the original, made at the beginning of the twentieth century by a historic foundry in Naples, the Chiurazzi foundry.

Ulysses is a character from Greek mythology. Originating from Ithaca, called the land of the sun, he is one of the Greek heroes described and narrated by Homer in the Iliad and the Odyssey.
