The depiction of the Zodiac signs dates back to ancient times and can be found in all civilizations (Egypt, India, Pre-Columbian Mexico, Greek and Roman monuments and coins). On many portals of Gothic cathedrals: Amiens, Chartres, Senlis, Saint-Denis, they form, alternated with the work of the months, one of the decorative elements.
