Description from the seller
Rare antique protective or sentimental ring in 18-carat gold and natural serpentine, dating from the 18th century (1730–1780).
Description
Rare antique 18-carat yellow gold ring set with an oval cabochon in natural serpentine.
The mount features a finely beaded closed setting, characteristic of European jewelry from the 18th century, datable to around 1730–1780.
Serpentine, a highly valued precious stone at that time, offers a beautiful olive green hue with visible natural inclusions, attesting to its authenticity and the absence of modern treatment.
The wide band in solid gold, crafted by hand, gives this ring an elegant and timeless presence. The overall design is perfectly consistent with jewelry from the Louis XV to Louis XVI period.
Total weight 4.14 grams
18 carats 750 out of 1000
Natural serpentine stone
Ring size approximately 56-57.
Very good condition for its age, with consistent old wear.
An authentic 18th-century jewel, sought after by collectors of antique jewelry and historical goldsmithing.
