Artist biography
Josep Mas Pou (Manlleu, Osona, October 2, 1926 – Ripoll, April 23, 1995) was a Catalan painter specialized in oil painting, especially landscapes. He stood out for his masterful depiction of rural landscapes, abandoned villages, countryside scenes, and Catalan farmhouses, showing a notable influence from the Olot school and a sensitive perspective towards the natural environment of Catalonia.
His style is personal and recognizable, combining realism and lyricism, and throughout his career, he developed a unique technique that earned him recognition in the Catalan artistic scene of the second half of the 20th century. His works are found in both private collections and art auctions, and are especially appreciated by collectors of Catalan landscape painting.
