Ernst Speier - Vase (2) - Terracotta - Sgraffito - Wood look

Two beautiful 1960s vases in sgraffito style.
This technique is an ancient scratching technique in which the top layer of paint is scratched away to reveal another layer underneath, creating patterns.

Another interesting feature is that the vases look like wooden vases with a birch finish.
One vase is by Ernst Speier,
