Newer brown half-leather binding with original printed front board, a gilt lettered label on the spine, and dusty rose coloured endpapers. First edition of this illustrated collection of fairy tales. With a cover design, an engraved title page, and 19 full page engravings by Max Slevogt.
Some rubbing, bumping, and wear to the boards and spine. The cover board has a water stain in the top right corner, and some little scratches. Pencil markings on the half title. Some browning, spotting and light smudging throughout. The text and illustrations are clear, the paper is crisp, and the binding is solid. Overall, a handsome copy in very good condition.
