Original edition of this series of eight poems published in Geneva (probably self-published) at the end of World War I.

Writer of 'unanimism,' Pierre Jean Jouve (1887-1976) was a voluntary nurse during the Great War. Through these eight poems, he expresses his desire to withdraw from the events.

Rare specimen, one of the 50 not for sale numbered copies (No. 33), printed for G. de Reynold and signed by the author on the certificate.

Also included is a signed, autographed letter dated December 1942, signed by Pierre Jean Jouve: 'to Countess Hélène de Miramon, this copy which she found during a time of another suffering... '
