Description from the seller
An attractive and sturdy wall coat rack. The coat rack is made from reclaimed wood and features iron hooks. It is designed in the style of Piet Hein Eek. Since Piet Hein Eek signs his furniture, you can conclude that this coat rack is not by him, as there is no signature to be seen.
However, the style is unmistakably Eek's.
The coat rack is particularly sturdy and robust. It is a typical piece of furniture from this time. Durable with its reclaimed wood, and stylish due to the mottled color palette; very beautiful!
The coat rack is 91.5 cm wide, 31 cm high, and approximately 10 cm deep. The weight is over 3.5 kg.
In 1985, Piet Hein Eek (born 1967) began his studies at the Academy for Industrial Design (later the Design Academy), where he was taught by Peer de Bruin and Gijs Bakker, among others. In 1990, Eek graduated from the Academy for Industrial Design (later the Design Academy) in Eindhoven, with a cabinet made of reclaimed wood. During a time of excess and perfection, he chose simple materials and a sober design. The cabinet is part of the collection at the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam.
In 2010, Eek and Ruijgrok took the biggest step of their lives by purchasing a former Philips factory of 11,000 m² in a yet-to-be-built residential area in Eindhoven. The main reason for moving is the increased sales of their collection and the growing fame of the Piet Hein Eek brand, attracting more and more visitors. Around their own collection, a context is created where art, design, antiques, creativity, craftsmanship, and gastronomy are central.
The coat rack is carefully packed and shipped insured.
