Description from the seller
Refined oil on panel signed Giacinto Bo, an artist active in the second half of the nineteenth century, known for his seascapes with a strong atmospheric impact.
The work presents a coastal view at sunset: a rippled sea reflecting the soft light of the sun, a rocky cliff on the right, and an imposing mass of clouds dominating the sky. The brushwork is thick, vibrant, and textured, typical of the artist's mature style.
The composition is balanced and rich in atmosphere, with a lyrical realism that recalls the Neapolitan and Ligurian school painting of the second half of the nineteenth century. The painting is signed at the bottom right.
Dimensions: 26 cm L x 18 cm H (without frame)
Cornice
Complete work with a contemporaneous gilded wood frame, richly carved, in good overall condition with normal signs of aging (small superficial wear and missing parts).
Conditions:
The painting is in good overall condition, with a beautiful antique patina. The painted surface appears stable; there may be minor deposits of dust or oxidized varnish compatible with its age.
Solid and undeformed table.
Origin
Italian private collection.
Shipping:
Professional packaging and tracked shipping.
