Description from the seller
A very beautiful publication dedicated to the 18th century, richly illustrated: 20 H.-T. engravings in phototypy, including a portrait of Marie-Antoinette on the frontispiece and numerous others in the text.
Beautiful publisher's binding, in dark green leather, with a long-grain maroquiné effect, spine with five false bands decorated with foliate interlacing and fillets, gilded. The front cover is richly decorated with a frame and foliate interlacing with fillets; the second cover features the same decoration but in blind. The endpapers and flyleaves are covered with pink lining fabric resembling eighteenth-century textile. Gilded edges.
Worn back, scuffing on the caps, lighter on the bits and corners. Impeccable interior. Good condition.
