'Nebular Fields no. 1' is a large abstract oil painting from 2025 and opens my new series of atmospheric abstract works. The work explores depth and light through layered luminous structures, without depicting a specific place or form.

The composition transitions from soft white tones into rich turquoise and emerald greens, forming a gradient that feels balanced and expansive. The surface has an almost Monet-like feel to it; clear brushstrokes, fluid, organic, and quietly moving like reflections on water. The work sits between abstract impressionism and contemporary colour-field painting, combining painterly gesture with a refined sense of colour and space.

As the first work in an ongoing series, Nebular Fields no. 1 marks the beginning of a continued exploration of spaciousness, light, and flowing colour. Its layered softness, light transitions and sense of depth give the piece a calming, meditative vibe which makes it suitable for both modern interiors and more classical settings.
