Contemporary full leather with gold spine lettering and decorations (fragment missing from the top of the spine of volume I). Rare edition published in Exeter, New Hampshire, USA. According to Rius, the frontispieces and added title-page illustrations were copied from a New York edition of 1814.
They are unsigned and uncaptioned but with page references to the relevant text
passage. [Rius 677, Suñé 407, Icon 448] Inscribed on flyleaf of vol.I: “Silas Leonard, Augusta, Maine. Don Quixote De la Mancha, Silas Leonard”. Signature repeated on title-page. Vol.IV lacks its
