Description from the seller
Lovingly crafted down to the smallest detail, the landscapes and natural areas are presented in Andrea Imwiehes' images.
In 'Tree Studies,' she dedicates herself with remarkable precision and sensitivity to the depiction of birch trees in their natural environment. The scene, painted in acrylic on wood, shows three distinctive birch trunks that stand out against the light background with their characteristic white-black bark. Through a lively, impasto application of color, a fascinating surface texture is created that suggests depth and movement.
The finely graded shades of green in the foliage – from rich dark green to luminous yellow-green – create a layered, almost impressionist play of light and shadow. The subtle beige background brings the composition to rest and directs the focus entirely on the study of the trees – both in form and texture.
This work is not only a observation of nature but also a silent homage to the structure and elegance of the birch. Ideal for collectors of contemporary nature painting as well as enthusiasts of atmospheric forest landscapes.
Andrea Imwiehe, winner of the art prize of AOK Nordost, Berlin/Brandenburg, and recipient of a scholarship from the Künstlerhaus Lukas in Ahrenshoop, is a graduate of the Hochschule für Bildende Künste Braunschweig. She has been passionately engaged with painting since her youth and now lives and works in a studio in the old imperial post office in the heart of Berlin.
