Original acrylic Cubist painting by E. Pérez Lezcano titled “La presencia” XL (No Reserve), a 2025 work depicting a nude figure, in green, brown, beige, red, black, and white, 100 cm by 70 cm, 0.6 kg, signed by hand, produced in Spain and sold directly from the artist with a certificate of authenticity.
Description from the seller
Presence is rooted in a tradition where cubism ceases to be a formal exercise and becomes a tool for thought. Fragmentation does not dissolve the figure; it strengthens it. The body, when divided into planes, becomes more self-aware.
The work establishes a clear dialogue with Latin American figurative expressionism and, in particular, with the heritage of Byron Gálvez, visible in extreme verticality, structural tension, and expressive economy. However, here, the dramatism transforms into restraint: the figure does not burst in, remains.
The pictorial space functions as a field of balance. Color does not describe volume but presence; the line does not delineate, but insists. From this cubist logic, the work proposes an experience of slow, almost ritual contemplation, where the viewer does not observe a body but affirms existence.
In a time dominated by speed and dispersion, presence manifests as a gesture of silent resistance: to be, to sustain oneself, to occupy space with dignity.
