Ezquerra, Carlos - 1 Original page - Strontium Dog - Journey Into Hell- Prog 104- Page 3 - 1979

A very early page drawn for a striking page of Journey Into Hell. This story features Johnny Alpha (the protagonist of the Strontium Dog Canon), Wulf (his 'Norm' right hand man/ Bounty Hunter friend) and of course the very loveable Fuzzy Alien; The Gronk.

The friends are chasing 'Fly's Eyes', a mutant who was also a bounty hunter who has gone rogue and murdered his own partner.

This is the 3rd page in the entire story and was published in a very early edition of 2000ad, the ground breaking British comic which featured the 1st ever appearance of Judge Dredd!

Written by T.B Grover, drawn by Carlos Ezquerra and lettered by J. Aldrich.

This page is full of action as Johnny Alpha leaps from his automobil onto a moving train in order to catch Fly's Eyes who then attempts to ambush him.

The bold layout and Ezquerra's crafty use of hand scratching white lines into his inks in order to convey movement is extremely effective.
