Big Peat Christmas Edition 2017 is, as usual, a very peaty bottling made from several Islay single malt whiskies. For this 7th edition, 7 single malts were selected and bottled at 54.1% cask strength. These include well-known distilleries such as Ardbeg, Bowmore, Caol Ila and the closed Port Ellen distillery. This year's design of this limited bottling shows the Big Peat bracing itself against a snowstorm on the island of Islay.

Nose: intense and fresh, with notes of roasted hazelnuts, iodine and mint
Palate: delicate, with aromas of milk chocolate, sweets and campfire.
Finish: oily, with malty aromas.

Robust, smoky influences open the Ardbeg 10 Years Old on the nose with caressing notes of charcoal and salt. The initial taste is complex, full, and exceptionally well-balanced with hints of vanilla and lime, surrounded by strong smokiness. The finish of Ardbeg 10 is full, rich, and perfectly balanced with sweet and spicy notes, complemented by the necessary smoky notes.
