Description from the seller
Where does the soul rest
Acrylic on canvas, 120 x 80 cm
Leandro Pérez Figueredo
Where the soul rests, Leandro Pérez Figueredo presents a work of profound introspective depth, where the image becomes a threshold between the visible and the emotional. The portrait, of remarkable technical precision, does not aim solely to depict a face but to capture that suspended moment in which identity is revealed through fragility and contemplation.
The figure emerges from a network of intense chromatic layers, gestural stains, and organic forms that envelop the face like a mental landscape. The background does not act as a mere support but as an extension of the protagonist's inner state: a symbolic territory where memory, desire, and silence coexist. The gaze, direct and serene, establishes an immediate connection with the viewer, inviting them to pause and inhabit that intimate space the artwork proposes.
The symbolic elements — the delicate, ephemeral white moth; the translucent green object; and the geometric figure in the shape of a clover — function as signs of transit and transformation. They are subtle metaphors for what briefly settles within us: desires, doubts, impulses that define us and, at the same time, make us vulnerable. In this painting, the soul does not shout; it settles, cautiously, in a constant balance between strength and sensitivity.
From a curatorial perspective, this work stands out for its ability to blend contemporary language with a deeply human narrative. It is a piece that grows over time, offering new interpretations depending on who observes it and the life moment from which they approach it. In an auction context, 'Donde posa el alma' positions itself as a work with strong visual and emotional presence, ideal for collectors seeking pieces with character, identity, and a story that continues to resonate in the space where it resides.
Acquiring this work is to embrace the privilege of living with an image that challenges, accompanies, and endures. A painting that not only decorates but also establishes a silent and constant dialogue with those who choose it.
Note for collectors
Certificates of authenticity will be sent along with the artworks only for sales exceeding 500 euros, ensuring their documentary support and artistic value.

Artist Statement
My work focuses on fantastic figuration, using portraiture as a vehicle to explore the human psyche and its archetypal narratives. My primary interest lies in the tension between intimate experience and universal symbolism: the female figure becomes the crucible where concepts such as conflict, sacrifice, desire, and memory are manifested.
My process is a visual thesis that merges realistic observation of faces with graphic and organic stylization in the environment, inspired by Art Nouveau and the sinuous narrative of Pop Surrealism. I aim to shape what is not said but is felt through the integration of symbolically and aesthetically striking organic elements, which act as direct metaphors for internal states and life processes.
My work dialogues with Surrealism and Magical Realism, aiming to demonstrate that the body is a map and the mind an ecosystem. Each painting is a consequence of consciousness, an effort to capture the constant duality (Youth/Time, Beauty/Death) that defines the human condition. Ultimately, my work is the visual chronicle of the search for where the soul rests, inviting reflection on our own essential complexity.
