Description from the seller
Vincenzo Di Giorgio was born in Capurso, in the province of Bari, on September 21, 1945, and is an Italian painter active mainly between the 1980s and 1990s of the twentieth century. His artistic research developed during a period of strong linguistic plurality, in which the artist crafted a personal language capable of combining figurative elements with expressive tensions of a more intimate nature. Di Giorgio's painting is distinguished by its intense use of color, rich painterly material, and compositions that tend to evoke emotional states rather than describe reality objectively. The subjects, often portraits or suspended scenes, become tools for psychological and symbolic investigation.
Throughout his career, Di Giorgio has participated in group and solo exhibitions in various Italian cities, especially during the 1980s and 1990s, a period when his work gained greater visibility. His works have been showcased in spaces dedicated to modern and contemporary art and later entered the public auction circuit, including those organized in Vercelli, which helped to strengthen his presence in the art market. Today, his works are held in private collections and testify to a consistent and ongoing research, capable of transcending time while maintaining a strong expressive identity.
