History / Overview
The Daimler Double-Six was produced from 1972 to 1997 as a luxury version of the Jaguar XJ with a V12 engine. The high-class finishes and sought-after craftsmanship allowed for a very high list price aimed at an affluent clientele. This particular vehicle was delivered new in Italy and bears its beautiful MILANO plates, with a well-known history, only 43,500 km, and all the factory manuals.
EXTERNAL
The bodywork is in blue and appears solid and well-polished, with some minor signs from normal use. A few years ago, the previous owner had it repainted in the original color. A polishing and detailing treatment has just been completed. A thickness gauge test showed no evidence of accidents. The chrome details and bodywork features are still in good original condition, and the alloy wheels have just been restored, like many other details.
The underside is generally solid and original, with all factory sheet metal as expected from a vehicle with a clean history. No signs of accidents have been found, and it is in compliance with road regulations.
Internal
The original beige leather interiors are well preserved, in good original condition, and fully usable. The veneered dashboard is complete with all the original instruments and all its exclusive Daimler details that distinguish it from standard contemporary Jaguars. A sanitation has just been performed.
MECHANICS
Mechanically, the car is in good working order, starts easily, and the gearbox functions well along with the brakes. The engine is original as per the registration document. The technical inspection was passed without any issues and is valid until April 2026. Over time, the car has received maintenance from an enthusiast, and recently the tires were replaced and the fuel injection system maintained. A 200 km test drive was recently completed on the highway without significant issues; however, a general check-up before use and long trips is always recommended.
