Description from the seller

A superb and varied collection of five Japanese ceramic sake cups (guinomi), likely originating from the Shūhō kiln, presented in their original inscribed wooden presentation box (kiribako).

This exquisite set showcases the depth and versatility of traditional Japanese pottery. Each of the five cups is individually handcrafted and features a distinct, beautiful glaze, making the collection a feast for the eye. The glazes range from a deep, lustrous iron brown and a rich, streaked amber to an earthy olive green, a creamy white speckled glaze, and a lively orange-and-white speckled finish. This variety ensures a unique drinking experience for each user and highlights the artisan's skill in different firing techniques.

The wide, shallow form is ideal for appreciating the color and aroma of fine sake. The set is housed in a traditional wooden box, which is signed with the kiln name/artist's name "秀峰" (Shūhō) and the item title "ぐい呑" (Guinomi).
