Description from the seller

Rare Sculpture in Silvered Antimony: The Rowing Fishermen
A scenographic masterpiece of high craftsmanship; I present to you a monumental and rare sculpture, a piece of art of considerable weight and size that captures the epic of maritime work. This work is of excellent craftsmanship and chisel work, attributed to the renowned sculptor, and represents a unique opportunity for collectors and lovers of 19th-century/early sculpture art.

The sculpture depicts a dynamic and evocative scene: fishermen in a boat with oars, engaged in the hard but noble work of the sea. The figures and expressions of the subjects are of exceptional emotional impact. Made from a metal alloy (Antimony), the sculpture is finished with a silver bath, as evidenced by the stamps shown in the photo.
This silver finish makes it a different work from the most common creations of the author, a detail confirmed by the explicit engraving on the base (as shown in the photo).

Attention to detail is evident in every element: the finishes are crafted with great professionalism. The artist paid particular attention to the meticulous engravings, which enhance the realism of the scene. The sculptural support deserves special mention: the base is not just a simple support, but features detailed maritime objects and symbols that complete the narrative of the fishermen's lives.

Thanks to its size and weight, the sculpture is highly dramatic and commands presence in any environment. It is a true focal point capable of attracting attention, adding value and prestige to its placement. Despite its imposing stature, the form is harmonious, allowing for effective integration into various decor styles, from classic to contemporary. It is an antique piece, with conditions reflecting its age. Being a silver-plated sculpture, some natural signs of wear are visible in certain areas, where the plating appears discolored or missing. This aspect contributes to the vintage charm of the object, but it is important to note that the sculpture requires cleaning and polishing. The buyer can choose to preserve the current patina and signs of age or opt for a new silver plating to restore its original brightness. The wooden base support has been restored over time (as shown in the photos), and thorough cleaning is recommended for it as well. All information provided is based on consultations with expert antique dealers, ensuring seriousness and accuracy in attribution.

Given its size and fragility, the sculpture will be packed with the utmost professionalism and care, using abundant and specific protective materials. The shipment will be carried out by a well-known reliable courier express, with traceable service and mandatory insurance for the full value of the artwork, to ensure the complete safety of your valuable purchase.
